Dear
Constituent, I am pleased to inform you that on Tuesday (11th February) the European Parliament Agriculture Committee voted to reject the proposal of the European Commission on Plant Reproductive Material. The full Parliament will vote on this in a few weeks' time and if it also rejects the draft law on seeds, the European Commission will have to go back to the drawing board. I am very grateful to you for helping to overturn this proposal that would have a disastrous effect on biodiversity, food production, gardeners and small breeders. It is clearly designed for the benefit of the multinational seed industry. I will keep you updated on developments. Jill Evans MEP Plaid Cymru |
